I am loving all these adorable stamps that are coming out this year!! Seriously, I never thought I’d be a huge stamper, but I’m having more and more fun with each one, and Penny Black’s Mimi’s Farm is no exception. It’s adorable! The minute I saw it I knew the exact project I wanted to do (which never happens) and I couldn’t wait to get started!
You only need four things to make these cute little animals. An ink pad, the stamp, and markers, and scissors. Pretty easy/basic necessities. I really wanted to take myself down memory lane and make a flannel board for my children. We had one growing up and I remember the fun times of making the billy goats Gruff go over the bridge to the green grass. I hope my kids love feeding the animals as much as I loved squashing that mean old troll! After I stamped, colored, and cut these out, I laminated them. Trust me…mine needed laminating. I had to take them away from my screaming 3 year old more than once before they were laminated. To make them stick to the flannel, I read that sandpaper is great. If you want my advice, it’s only ok. Maybe one sided velcro would work a little better. These fall off a little easy for my taste, but it does work.
(If you want the extra peices, google your heart out! I thought our animals needed a barn, so I googled one, printed, colored, and laminated.)
So FUN! It’s a hit! Now we can start counting chickens, cows, and horses.
