I had found this little Kraft/Chipboard book while on a recent shopping trip and used it to make this mini with Kaisercraft‘s Art of Life Collection. I’m not sure what draws me so much to this collection but something really does. I love the soft brown tones of the paper and the images that are so beautifully done. This little book has three heavy chipboard pages and three expandable kraft envelopes, perfect for preserving a special moment in time.
I had gotten both the 12×12 collection package and the 6 1/2′ square pad. I used primarily the smaller pad for most of the mini. If you’re not familiar with Kaisercraft pads the smaller ones come 1/2′ larger than norm, which I find exceedingly helpful at times, they also have several punch out sheets of images at the end. In the photo above both the sentiment on the left and the arrow on the right are from these punch-outs, I simply backed them on a solid cardstock for a sturdier effect.
Because this is a smaller mini I think the addition of the gusseted envelopes is a great touch for tucking away all those bits of memorabilia that you want to save along with the photos (of course you could always stick the extra photos in the pockets as well). I used Spellbinders Nestabilites Superellipse die for the mats and then distressed everything with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs. Be sure and check out my video, I’ll show you what the book looked like naked, a glimpse of how I did the pages, a complete walk through page by page and of course still photos at the end.
Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!
