Card Making: Spellbinders Filigree Egg Cards
Easter is just around the corner, extra special for me this year because it’s my Granddaughter’s twelfth birthday and we’ll be there to share it with her. I thought I’d like a couple of cards for family and friends to have on hand for Easter and this Filigree Egg Die D-Lites by Spellbinders was just perfect. I so love Spellbinders filigree dies they cut so nicely and the impressions are clear, clean and crisp.
Besides the egg die I also used Spellbinders Majestic Labels One die to form the front and back base of my card. You simply cut two from the die, score one 3/4″ from the side. By gluing the two together along the fold/scored line you create a hinge to form the basis of your card.
The egg was cut twice, one was sprayed with Lindy’s Starburst – Love at First Sight Lavender, the second was left white. I put pop dots on the lavender side and popped the white egg atop it, making sure the filigrees aligned. All edges of the card base were inked lightly with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Milled Lavender. The double egg was then placed on the center of the card base. Adding a tulle bow, flower with a bling center is just enough pizzazz to finish the card.
I used a rub on for my sentiment on the inside
To finish the card I used Joy! Crafts Elegant Card Stand die to accompany the card. (In order to make the easel a little sturdier I cut two, glued them together and then lightly inked the edges). Hmm… notice there are two easels here? That means there must be a bonus card idea in the video below, don’t miss it!
Thanks and Happy Scrappin’!
