My video this week walks you through how to make a fancy folded card using a double diamond fold card template, it really looks more complicated that it is.

For this card I used a piece of white card stock cut to 12″ x 7″, using a scoring board you can either mark 1 1/2 inch or as I did in the video just put a little mark there with the scoring board, next score at three inches and again at 4.5 inches. You will do the same on the other side of the card. Next you will score from the 1.5 inch mark to the 4.5 inch score line from top to bottom on a diagonal, you will do this again from the 4/5 inch to the 1.5 inch mark, this will create a diamond pattern, repeat on the other side. Finally when you look at the template you will see two lines that are in yellow, these pieces get cut off, I scored the line first so I knew where to cut it. Also on the template the different colors represent which way the paper gets folded, the blue lines are valley folds and the green lines are mountain folds.

Once you get all of the scoring and folding done you can cut the patterned paper pieces. I wanted to find an easy way to create the pieces so I decided to make a template for the pieces on my Silhouette. They came out very well and I can send anyone that is interested the cut files. If you do not have a silhouette you can cut the patterned paper a little smaller than the folded area to create a boarder.

Once I had all the pieces cut I adhered them to the card base, next I cut two of the Antique corners using my Sizzix Big Shot and placed them on the front of the card, then I cut an image on the Silhouette for the inside of the card, I used the print and cut feature for this image. Finally I added some Washi tape, a sticker boarder from the BoBunny 12″ x 12″ collection, and added the bling which is also from the BoBunny Primrose collection. Another helpful hint is I added four pieces of patterned paper to the back of the white card stock so when the card was folded it would show on the front instead of the white card stock, this gave the card a finished look.

Here is my finished card:

I really like how this card turned out, the next time I make it I think I am going to add a magnetic closure or something, maybe a twine tie to keep it closed, but it was a fun project! Here is another view with the card open.

I hope you like my project this week, please let me know if you would like the Silhouette files. Till next week, Thanks and Happy Scrappin!
