Cristmas Gift Idea

Friday, December 20th, 2013

So in case you didn’t realize, Christmas is almost here and I have a gift idea that you can throw together to give to any friend or family member. Just grab a can, we used a can of Pirroettes and some cute paper and begin by covering it, If you are looking for some really cute Christmas paper we used Elf Magic from BoBunny. Next, we cut out these really ornate doilies which we though were great for snowflakes from Spellbinders and fancied them up with some bling. Last but not least the top was simply the the die cut backed with corrugated paper.

It is fun to give a gift a personal touch and it really does not take all that long. As you give those gifts, get creative, get out your crafting stuff, and make a gift one to remember.

Candy Roll Gift Idea

Monday, October 14th, 2013

My daughter had a double birthday party last weekend and we needed a gift idea for two four year olds, so I came up with this fun Candy Roll Gift idea. What four year old doesn’t like candy??? I know none. Therefore, I let Claire choose some candy and we made it into a candy roll. It’s funny how I felt like I didn’t have a lot of time to shop for a present, but I sure had the time to make these…and it probably took a little longer. It was fun! I got my feet wet with some of the new spellbinders and I’m loving them. I’m a little convinced that girly scrapbook items are kind of like baby clothes….they’re more fun to get when they’re girly. I guess I’m biased, being female and all. :)

I took the candy and put it in a plastic gift baggy. I tied one end and cut off the other, then tied that side as well. I wrapped my main paper around the roll and placed the decor on top. I didn’t fully adhere it to the bag until I was done just in case I needed to adjust, which was helpful! One shout out that I MUST do is for the Spellbinders Medallion Nine. This little Die D-lite is so much fun, beautiful, and cute all at the same time. I posted a bigger picture so you could see a little more detail.

Also, the Spellbinders Blooms One turned out to be far more adorable than I was expecting. These are the little daisies shown below. I love that you can flare out the pedals to give it the 3D effect! So cute!

On our boy present we used more of a birthday theme with the QuicKutz Party. However, I must tell you that the Penny Black Edge to Edge stamps are what really got me excited for these! Ah! They have the cutest sayings that I would actually put on any card or gift.

Princess Birthday Card

Friday, September 27th, 2013

Wow where does the time go? Our kids keep having birthdays on an annual basis (how dare they) and we know they are growing up right before our eyes, so we want to show you a Princess birthday card we made for our little princess  Ellana, who is quite the handful but oh so cute. She is also 100% girl and loves everything to do with princesses right now (tiaras, dresses, pretty shoes, and “ip stick”) This card will really get her excited.

When we received this die cut from Sizzix, both Heather and I thought the same thing, that it would make a cute Cinderella carriage even though it said bird cage on the front. Don’t get me wrong, it would make a cute bird cage if you needed one for your design but I think that it makes an equally cute carriage don’t you? We just cut two parts out in pink and the other part in the tan and when you add wheels that I just cut out from a paper pack from Bo Bunny, wa la you have a Carriage. We really like the girly patterned paper from DCWV for the carriage as it just adds a nice little decorative touch.

Spooky Halloween Decoration

Friday, September 20th, 2013

You are going to be seeing a lot of Halloween from us these next few weeks because like I said, Heather is really into the spooky season, so here is a spooky Halloween decoration. I hope you are enjoying the nice cool air of an early fall this year. We had the first frost out by us today. Soon the leaves will be changing and before you know it there will be knocks at the door with kids in full costume yelling “Trick or Treat”. It is a fun time of year and for some reason, when the change of season happens, Heather really gets into her crafts, so here is one of them.

Paper choice is really what makes this project shine. Heather used Bo Bunny‘s Fright Delight Costume paper and DCWV‘s Bright Metallic Cardstock. After she cut out the paper and Mod Podged it together it was just adding the extras to spice it up a little- like googly eyes and pearl accents. This is a fun little craft that even your kids can help with so give it a try.

Last Minute Card Idea

Friday, September 6th, 2013

If you find yourself in a bind and need  a birthday, get well, or really any other card, here is a last minute card idea for you that can literally take you 2-3 minutes to make.I ordered this card making set from Hero Arts a few months ago thinking it was something else but it comes in handy when we have forgot to pick up a card. it comes with the main card and all you have to do is choose one of four stamps it comes with to stamp on the paper.

Or if that is way too simple you can start there and then spice it up and make it your own like Heather did. She added a pretty inner part and then decorated the envelope with a few embossed papers from Spellbinders.

Our Daily Bread Quatrefoil Pattern Die!

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013

If you want a beautiful background die to dress up a card or layout, then you might just want to check out Our Daily Bread Quatrefoil Pattern Die. It is a Spellbinders die co-branded with ODB that can cut beautifully embossed designs that look great on any paper crafting project. It also can be used as a stencil. It will work in most leading die cutting and embossing machines. The Quatrefoil Pattern die is 5 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches and consists of 1 die.  It is PERFECT to use as a background for other dies or as the feature die on your project.

On my fairy card, I used the Quatrefoil Pattern as a lattice screen and placed a silhouette fairy behind it, making it appear that the fairy is hiding behind the screen.  I used a pre-printed card from DCWV Citrus Box of Cards, to have a background print for my fairy, then placed Prima flowers on top of the Quatrefoil Pattern.  The fairy is 4X4330-Cottage Cutz Filigree Fairy Made Easy.

To finish off the card I used Robin’s Nest Dew Drops on the 4 corners, brads in the flower centers and Baby Bling Silver Rhinestones-6044 from Want2Scrap throughout the Quatrefoil Pattern. After all, where there’s fairies, there’s sparkles!

I fell in love with this die and knew I had to have it! It is gorgeous!  The fairy die is adorable too, and my granddaughter is going to love it! She loves fairies and princesses. Tinkerbell is her favorite fairy. Isn’t she everyone’s?

Be sure to check out all of Our Daily Bread’s dies and stamps! FYI-Even though ODB dies are made by Spellbinders, they are exclusive to ODB and do not qualify for the 40% coupon. Sorry!

Thanks & Happy Scrappin’!
