Baby Girl Card Ideas!

June 18th, 2013 | by Cut@Home

One of the best purchases I have made in my lifetime has been my Die Cutting Machines and some dies because I have saved so much money (well, you know what I mean) by making my own cards like these baby girl card ideas! Doing this has given me a creative outlet in my cards and scrapbook layouts and have the capability to make original cards for others.  I love that and I know that all of you do too, since we share the same passion! I made these cards mainly with Spellbinders dies and my brand new, pretty blue Sizzix

A Romantic Occasion Card Idea Using Sizzix!

May 16th, 2013 | by Cut@Home

We’re heading into wedding season which also means lots of anniversaries are celebrated as well during this time,  so I thought I would share a romantic occasion card idea using Sizzix Framelits 11PK w/ Stamps Love set. They say if your married in June, you’re a bride all your life, so why not create a card that can be a keepsake for life! After all, we make cards because we love it and we want the recipient to love it too! You can use your own color scheme to even match the brides colors if you choose, but I really wanted to

A Mothers Day Page Layout

May 2nd, 2013 | by Cut@Home

I came across this beautiful and old picture of my mom and me and my brothers and I thought this would make a great Mothers day Page Layout.  My father served in the Military my whole childhood so I had the privilege to grow up overseas.  This picture, I believe was taken in Europe, and so I wanted to use some products that would bring back some of those memories from my childhood.  First Edition has this beautiful paper collection called Noir et Chic and it went perfectly with this black and white photo. I also used KaiserCraft collectables called 75

Mini Petal Easter Basket!

March 27th, 2013 | by Cut@Home

I love making things to give away and this mini petal Easter basket is a quick and easy little gift for co-workers, friends and family members! My kids are all grown now, and they are all “watching what they eat”, so I thought this would be a perfect size to give each of them for just a little treat this Easter.  Definitely not enough to ruin their healthy living lifestyle, but enough to satisfy their sweet tooth!   This project was easy. I actually ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot Pro machine just because I wanted to use a 12 x

Easter Treat Boxes!

March 20th, 2013 | by Cut@Home

Today is officially the first day of Spring and everyone is looking forward to Easter next weekend, so I thought I would show you a couple Easter treat boxes that I made using my Sizzix Big Shot Pro and Bigz Pro Dies.  These are so incredibly easy, they literally only take a few minutes to make! This first box is one I showed you at Christmas time, but change your paper and voila…you have an Easter box! One sheet of pattern paper (I like double sided for a prettier project), add labels, fill with treats, tie the ends with some ribbon

Animal Antics Layout

March 18th, 2013 | by Stacy

If you’re in the market for some ADORABLE baby paper, look at the First Edition Animal Antics paper for your next layout! I looked at the pictures of the paper before I got it and I was instantly excited to get to work. I love paper that is so cute that you don’t have to do much to make it darling. This is exactly how this paper is. It is a great gender neutral paper as well, so you could use it for any beautiful new addition to your family. Honestly, First Edition makes the cutest paper on the block, so

Last Minute Valentine’s Box

February 13th, 2013 | by Doug and Heather

Here are some last minute Valentine’s box ideas if you have put off helping your kids put theirs together until now. Our kids usually make theirs at school but this year I guess we missed the memo so they both came home yesterday and told us that they need them by Thursday. They were a lot of fun once we got started and our kids had so much fun helping glue everything together. Our kids decided that they wanted Valentines monsters so for the dragon we just used an old soda box and covered it in green paper, the face

Valentines Day Decorations

February 1st, 2013 | by Doug and Heather

I don’t know if you are anything like us but we have a lot of decorations for most holidays but not Valentines Day so Heather decided that we needed some things to put up around the house. First Editions Blank Canvas paper set a really nice base for each wall hanging and Authentiques Lovely Collection sticker set made it a lot of fun designing. I had to laugh because Heather, as she was sticking on all of the stickers, was having so much fun. Scrapbooking/crafting is so much fun when it is easy and you get such good results. I

First Edition Hideaway Paper

January 28th, 2013 | by Stacy

If you are in the market looking for new paper, look no further! The First Edition Hideaway Paper is just the thing you’re needing for some fresh, new ideas! If I could cover my house in this gorgeous paper pad, I would….and I’m only sort of kidding on that one. Seriously though, this paper is beautiful! It’s got glitter, texture, cute patterns, and it harbors beautiful ideas the minute you set eyes on it. I’ve used the 6X6 paper pad, but rest assured that I will be getting the 12X12 on the blog in the future. I wanted to make some

Want2Scrap Polkadot Booklet Album

January 14th, 2013 | by Stacy

This Want2Scrap Polkadot Booklet Album is adorable to boot! I got it out thinking that it would probably take me forever to get it finished, but I was done in just a few hours. I couldn’t put it down! When I started, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to make it into. Ideas ranged from a Valentine’s Day book for my husband of things I love about him, a note pad for my daughter to draw in, and finally settled on a princess book. Wanna know the great news? She LOVES it! She’s always asking me, “Mom, where’s

Spellbinders Butterfly Spread

January 11th, 2013 | by Doug and Heather

Here is a cute butterfly scrapbook spread using Spellbinders Butterfly Corner die cut. I just love die cut sets that you can use almost exclusively to create a whole layout with. This set comes with three different sized butterflies, an ornate corner, and a decorative tag. All you have to do is pick out paper to match your pictures and cut and paste. Look how cute, we just received a few new die cuts and this was one that was at the top of the list to try out first.                   These pictures are of our “little” Trista a few years ago.

Easy Christmas Scrapbook Layout!

December 19th, 2012 | by Cut@Home

Yesterday I gave some tips on getting started in, what I believe, is one of the most fabulous hobbies to be in existence, so I wanted to follow up with an easy Christmas scrapbook layout to show that keeping it simple is fun, creative and attractive! In case you are wondering, the photo is in fact from last year because, like most people, I am NOT caught up on my scrapbooks, and will likely NEVER be, because I am shutter happy with my camera! I look at it this way- scrapbooks are a work in progress. Enjoy the process! Not every

November 23rd, 2012 | by Doug and Heather

It is official, our house is decorated and these gift decorations made with a couple 2×4′s and some Christmas paper from Teresa Collins and First Edition really brought the spirit of Christmas into our house. I hope that all of you Black Friday shoppers survived this morning, Heather and I stayed home and got all of our decorating all up instead. It is always so much fun to put up new decorations and this year we have quite a few as we do something new each week so that we can blog about it. This one couldn’t be easier, just

Spellbinders Die D-Lites with First Edition Blank Canvas Card

November 19th, 2012 | by Stacy

I feel like it’s been forever since I made a card! I really missed it! The Spellbinders’ Die D-Lites and First Edition Blank Canvas paper make card making so much fun and so easy to do! The paper is so gorgeous that I didn’t feel like I had to do much to make this card beautiful. First, I took the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Frame One and cut it out of my main paper. Instead of cutting out the frame and gluing it on, I wanted to make a whole so I could put a different color background behind the paper. Next, I

Christmas Gift idea using Want2Scrap

October 26th, 2012 | by Doug and Heather

Check out this fun gift idea for Christmas or birthdays using Want2Scrap’s Album set. This was so easy but creates a nice hand made gift for anyone that likes to scrapbook. We used the 8×8 corrugated cardboard album and just mounted First Edition 8×8 paper on each side of the cardboard. Then you just need to add your designs  to fancy up the front of it.                   It is that time of year again to start thinking about Christmas and what to give others. We really like giving homemade gifts to parents and siblings so we are always looking out for ideas

Embossed Layout Using Spellbinders Tweets and Twigs!

September 6th, 2012 | by Cut@Home

Scrapbooking is one of my favorite ways to document my life, and this embossed layout using Spellbinders Tweets and Twigs M-bossabilities actually shows me with my tiny grandson! I am rarely IN the picture, because I am usually behind the lens, so this is rather special for me. I so adore his tiny little feet!   This was another easy layout (I LOVE EASY) since I used a pattern paper with a place for a photo designed right on the page. I cut out the center using a kraft knife, and put my photo behind the paper, letting the detail overlap the
